It’s time for the weed report!

IMPORTANT NEWS: ALL businesses in the Local 101 will be closed at 4pm on TUESDAY 8/14 for a company wide staff party.  Come see us before it’s too late!

This week brings the return of hash in the store!  We’ve been out for a little while and it’s time to try a local vendor of high quality, tasty hash: American Hash Makers.  Their bubble hash is truly dabbable, what a treat!  Do not miss their Gelato, so good.

Red alert for fans of our lovely former budtender Anna Arvan!  She’s making a musical appearance next week before Open Mic, check the Detour events below for details!

Congratulations are in order to our fearless leader Greg Brotherton who advances to the general election for JeffCo County Commissioner in November.  Good luck, Greg!

This week at the Disco Bay Detour:

Open daily at 7am for COFFEE & NEWS

Thursdays are the Acoustic Open Mic Jam, bring your songs and instruments from 7-10pm

Friday 8/10 – Clinton Davis – Clinton Davis is an old-time multi-instrumentalist and educator currently based in San Diego. A fifth-generation Kentuckian, Davis grew up in Carroll County with faint residues of old time music lingering in the air and in his family’s past. He currently performs on guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, and piano as a soloist or as leader of the G Burns Jug Band. In 2015, No Depression called the Jug Band’s sophomore album, The Southern Pacific & The Santa Fe “a joyous and soulful restoration of one of the lost treasures of American musical tradition.” That same year, their album was also awarded “Best Local Recording” at the San Diego Music Awards.  Free show, 7-10pm

Saturday 8/11 – Joseph Hein Band – Eastern Washington bred, Joseph Hein comes with lush arrangements and warm distortion. He creates dreamy harmonious sounds with an energetic uptempo rhythm influenced by songs of yesteryear’s AM country and R&B gold. He is often accompanied by an array of instruments including a trombone, a violin, keyboards and guitars that add to the band’s distinct style. Joseph Hein sings honestly about good times and the bad and the music bears witness to the road unkempt and a winding trail.  Free show, 7-10pm

Thursday 8/16 – Songwriters Workshop with ANNA ARVAN and Havilah Rand – Our gal Anna returns and she’s bringing her amazing friend!  Havilah is an award winning singer songwriter and educator who has recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest after an eleven year stint in the acclaimed Live Music Capital of the World Austin, TX . Her musical journey spans five full length albums and two decades weaving its way through the jazz halls of New York City, the alternative rock venues of post grunge Seattle and countless coffeeshops and theaters across the United States And Europe. She is the founder of Holistic ArtVentures, an organization that uses songwriting as a tool for bolstering empathy, creativity, collaboration and confidence. She will be offering a short sample of her programs with touring partner and songwriter Anna Arvan during a one hour songwriting workshop preceding an open mic at the Disco Bay Detour in Port Townsend on Thursday, August 16th from 5-6pm with a $10 suggested donation.
