It’s time for the weed report!

Sasquatch is dead, long live the THING.  This weekend is the massive THING festival at Fort Worden in Port Townsend.  If you don’t have to be in the area you might want to get out of it.  On your way out of town stop by and stay high, oops I mean say hi!  Seriously though, there’s no onsite parking at the Fort, tens of thousands of people will be coming to the area to enjoy the likes of the Violent Femmes, De La Soul, live podcasts, food, comedy, dance and visual arts.  Plan for a very traffic heavy weekend on the Quimper Peninsula.

We got skunked on half an order this week from Liberty so scroll down to the part where I blame it on my rep. Someday we will be able to UPS this stuff and not have to wait for delivery cycles.  In the meantime we have a small amount of the new Sub X remaining and expect a good sized order of popcorn eighths from Dream City to arrive by the weekend.

Check out our Leafly menu here.  The same menu is also available on our website.   We are unable to update the menu daily so check the “last updated” time stamp and call ahead if you’re depending on something.  You can also find us on Yelp and Google!  We love positive reviews, please consider leaving helpful comments so more people will check us out!  We sure do appreciate it!

This week at the Disco Bay Detour:

They will be open for extended hours on performance days listed on Facebook

Wednesdays are Wilderness Wednesdays at the Detour – Starting in April, weekly meetings from 6-9pm
A Collaboration between Disco Bay Outdoor Exchange and Disco Bay Detour

Join Detour bartender, former wilderness ranger and current mountain guide Erin Reading for an evening focused on wilderness/outdoor adventure. The intention is to share collective knowledge with one another, build webs of connection among various outdoor communities, and to have fun delighting in one another’s adventure planning, stories, and questions. Everyone is encouraged to bring maps (yay!), trip planning ideas and resources, gear questions, pictures, or whatever else you feel inspired to ask or share.

While the foundation of Wilderness Wednesdays is simply a time to gather informally to pour over maps and share stories over drinks, some evenings will also feature a wilderness related presentation or workshop, with topics ranging from surfing, kayaking, backcountry skiing, and mountaineering to backpacking, flyfishing, local botany, and wild foraging. If you have a presentation or workshop you would like to share for one of the weeks (30-45min long presentation, plus some Q & A time) or a topic you would like to hear someone else speak about, contact Erin at erin.b.reading@gmail.com.

***Barring rain, we will have a fire going outside – feel free to bring something to grill on the schwenker or a snack/potluck dish to share if so inspired.***

For both experienced and aspiring outdoor adventurers – all are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Unassuming and delightful, Fay will share about her current endeavor to climb the top 100 peaks on each side of the Olympic Mountains (east and west). You can read more about her here: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web16b/wfeature-local-hero-fay-pullen

Wednesday 8/28 Decriminalize Nature with Rebecca Ramsey of Port Townsend Psychedelic Society. Learn about Port Townsend Psychedelic Society’s educational, political, and social campaign to decriminalize and de-stigmatize the use of these wild growing entheogenic plants and fungi. Mushrooms, cacti, vine/leafs, roots…learn about how they help us connect with both wildernesses within and without, their psychoactive properties, healing and medicinal potential, and ways to partake in them with respect, responsibility, reverence, and integrity.

Part of Wilderness Wednesdays – feel free bring something to share or grill at the potluck/campfire outside afterwards!

Received since the last episode:

Liberty Reach (8/20) First the bad news, the order for RSO and vape carts was lost by my guy (he said it’s OK to blame it on him) so that stuff won’t be here until next Tuesday. The good news is that we now have 1 gram Ghost Train Haze and 30% OGKB joints and 2 x half gram joints in 27% Ghost Train and 27% Tangerine Power.  Next Tuesday we ought to have their Canna Tsu high CBD RSO (around 1.5:1 CBD/THC), a couple new RSO varieties and God’s Breath 3:1 THC/CBD vape cartridge (around 45% THC and 15% CBD) which offers elevated CBD percentage and a THC number close to half the strength of a regular cartridge.

Mr. Moxey (8/21) Received Cinnamon THC mints, Ginger and Peppermint 5:1 CBD/THC mints, Cinnamon and Peppermint 1:1 CBD/THC mints

Due soon (delivery days/times subject to change):

Dream City (8/23) On order: 3.5g popcorn in Fruit Punch, Super Lemon Smac (Super Lem Dawg x MAC), Nilla Wafer (Wedding Cake x Sundae Driver), Black Nitro, Jelly Breath and Slurricane

Liberty Reach (8/27) CBD and THC RSO, God’s Breath vape cartridges

Cedar Creek – (end of Aug/early Sept) Jack Herer and the oils aren’t ready until the end of the month so we must wait. We have a good supply of 26% Allen Wrench, 30% Chem Dawg and 28% OG Kush
