It’s time for the weed report!

We survived the holiday weekend and keep pushing through.  We only received one order last week but have several looming on the horizon.  Dream City is going to shower us with a lot of great stuff tomorrow, scroll down for details!

You may have heard the news…  someone smashed our window and cut our cords again, taking us out of commission this past Monday.  It’s very frustrating, as it amounted to losing nearly a full day’s sales, having to deal with clean up, the window repair, the phone repair, interview with the sheriff.  As I waited in the Detour for the various repair crews and law enforcement meetings I saw so many people getting to the door, reading the sign and leaving in disappointment.  We were back at it late Monday and have been going strong ever since.  The person who smashed the window didn’t walk away with anything.

Check out our Leafly menu here.  The same menu is also available on our website.   We are unable to update the menu daily so check the “last updated” time stamp and call ahead if you’re depending on something.  You can also find us on Yelp and Google!  We love positive reviews, please consider leaving helpful comments so more people will check us out!  We sure do appreciate it!

This week at the Disco Bay Detour:

Open M-F at 7am, S-S at 8am for COFFEE & NEWS – espresso, fresh pastries

Tuesdays are Music Trivia with Mallory.  $2 buy in, starts at 6pm, rotating weekly themes

Wednesdays are Wilderness Wednesdays at the Detour – Starting in April, weekly meetings from 6-9pm
A Collaboration between Disco Bay Outdoor Exchange and Disco Bay Detour

Join Detour bartender, former wilderness ranger and current mountain guide Erin Reading for an evening focused on wilderness/outdoor adventure. The intention is to share collective knowledge with one another, build webs of connection among various outdoor communities, and to have fun delighting in one another’s adventure planning, stories, and questions. Everyone is encouraged to bring maps (yay!), trip planning ideas and resources, gear questions, pictures, or whatever else you feel inspired to ask or share.

While the foundation of Wilderness Wednesdays is simply a time to gather informally to pour over maps and share stories over drinks, some evenings will also feature a wilderness related presentation or workshop, with topics ranging from surfing, kayaking, backcountry skiing, and mountaineering to backpacking, flyfishing, local botany, and wild foraging. If you have a presentation or workshop you would like to share for one of the weeks (30-45min long presentation, plus some Q & A time) or a topic you would like to hear someone else speak about, contact Erin at erin.b.reading@gmail.com.

***Barring rain, we will have a fire going outside – feel free to bring something to grill on the schwenker or a snack/potluck dish to share if so inspired.***

For both experienced and aspiring outdoor adventurers – all are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Scheduled talks:
7/10 and 7/17: Wilderness Wednesdays take a breather
7/24: Local Birds with Bob Steelquist – 7pm start

Bob will share his spectacular photos and in-depth knowledge, plus highlight the unique stories of several of these birds.

Thursdays are the Acoustic Open Mic Jam – Join Jillian as she hosts Open Mic/Jams in the Detour’s state of the art acoustic venue.  Plugged or unplugged, bring your instruments, original songs, renditions of classic ones, or works in progress.  Free, 7-9pm

Friday 7/12 – Daniel Pelligrini – Daniel Pellegrini is a guitarist/vocalist from Issaquah, Washington, where he grew up in a lush forest environment on a local mountain. A childhood love of all music grew into something more when Daniel discovered artists like Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, and Michael Jackson, which prompted him to explore all kinds of rock ‘n’ roll. It was at the age of 9 that he first picked up a guitar.  Daniel is inspired far more by 70’s and 80’s rock than present-day styles, an influence that is unmistakably present in his original songs. His music has been described as having a distinctively vintage flavor that pulls in older fans, while its modern edge to appeals to younger fans as well.

Pellegrini, Daniel’s self-titled debut EP, receives regular airplay on hard-rock Internet radio stations, and the first single release, “Walk in the Dark,” was used as a bumper on the Tom & Curley radio talk show on KIRO Radio 97.3.  Daniel’s first full-length album, Rocko Says… was released in May 2017. He plays gigs in the greater Seattle area, both as a solo artist and with his band.
